Stacey Repman, Rochester, NY Bride's Magazine Message Board: Hi Everyone-I just LOVED the way my flower preservation turned out I wanted to share it with you! I asked my florist to take care of it for me. I gave him the deposit to send to them, I gave him the address, and he put them in a box and got them shipped the Monday after. There are 2 kinds of preserving-the pressed method-which is mine; or the freeze dried method. That is where they take the flowers apart, freeze dry them, then reassemble them in the form that the bouquet was. The problem from what I came across with this method is how long it lasts, if it gets bumped or moved around a lot, it is likely to fall apart in a few years. So, I went with the pressed, which won't "fall apart" because they're smooshed in there!! I would suggest you do it because my thought was, here is your bouquet that you paid a good amount of money for most likely, and if you don't save them, they'll be gone! But pictures preserve them too y'know? It all comes down to finances really. If you got the extra money-or use some money you get for gifts towards it that would work too. I had this done at: Keepsake Flower Preservation. It is New York, so not anywhere close to me! Like I said above I had them shipped by the florist. I highly recommend them-they've been great to work with and have kept in touch with each step of the process through email. For example the frames they had available I didn't like too much so I told them I wanted a more modern silver frame, they found it, took a picture of it, sent it to me to see if I liked it and I did!
